Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills

When Fred Hayman opened Giorgio Beverly Hills at 273 Rodeo Drive in 1961, it established the Swiss-born American fashion retailer as “the Godfather of Rodeo Drive.” By launching a luxury boutique on this Beverly Hills boulevard Hayman prompted others—notably Gucci, Tiffany, Van Cleef & Arpels and Vidal Sassoon—to follow suit. Synonymous with Hollywood glamour, Rodeo Drive is recognized as a new nexus point connecting heritage with modernity, and savoir-faire with innovation.

The Griffith Observatory

The inspiration for the Observatory and for Griffith Park came from Griffith J. Griffith who was the benefactor for both. The idea of a “public observatory” was a very new one at the turn of the 20th century, but Griffith developed very precise specifications regarding what should be included in the building. From 1935-2002, the Observatory provided southern Californians and visitors from around the world with chances to observe, to learn, and to be inspired. Griffith’s vision for the building was updated and enhanced when the Observatory was renovated and expanded from 2002-2006. Since reopening after renovation, the Observatory has reached increasingly larger audiences, both in-person, online, and through media and film. In 2020, the Observatory celebrated its 85th anniversary. This was one of the iconic filming locations for “Rebel Without A Cause”!

Dodger Stadium

Opened in 1962, Dodger Stadium is the oldest Major League Baseball stadium west of the Mississippi. When the Dodgers first relocated from their original home in Brooklyn, they played at Los Angeles Coliseum, a stadium that dated back to the 1932 Olympic Games. However, after a few years, Dodger Stadium was built to house the baseball team, and it has been their home ever since.

Dodger Stadium remains a historic and iconic place to catch a ball game, and although several renovations through the years have kept it up to date, it still retains some of that old-fashioned ballpark charm.

The Pantages Theatre

n the heart of Hollywood, on Hollywood Boulevard, right down the block from Vine Street, stands the Hollywood Pantages Theatre. It's a fitting location: The Pantages has become one of the greatest landmarks of Hollywood, signifying both the glorious past and adventuresome future of the world's entertainment capital.

The Hollywood Pantages has a history as grand and diverse as the stage and screen fare which audiences have flocked to enjoy there for half a century. These days it's one of Los Angeles' leading homes of legitimate theatre (the five highest-grossing weeks in L.A.'s theatrical history were all shows at the Pantages) and a favorite "location" for tv shows, movies and music videos. In the past, it has been a movie house, with live vaudeville acts between features as well as the site of many gala premieres and "spectaculars." For ten years the Hollywood Pantages Theatre was the home of the glittering Academy Awards Presentations.
